Concordia University Kapelle to perform

ALAMOSA—The Concordia University Chicago Concert Choir, Kapelle, will perform in Alamosa on March 5 while on its annual spring concert tour. The Kapelle is conducted by Dr. Charles P. Brown, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities at Concordia University Chicago.

The choir will perform at Leon Memorial Hall on Adams State University Campus, 201 Richardson Ave, Alamosa, on Sunday, March 5, at 7 p.m.

Kapelle is the premier choral ensemble of the university. Chosen by audition, the choir prepares a variety of music for local and national audiences. An annual spring 10-day tour takes Kapelle to a variety of regions in the United States.

Additionally, Kapelle embarks on an international tour every four years and has performed in Europe and South America countries including Finland, France, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Chile and Argentina. The ensemble most recently performed a concert tour in Poland in the spring of 2015. In addition to touring opportunities, Kapelle has produced 11 recordings.  

Sunday’s concert program will center on music in respect to the theme, “No Greater Love” which will include a variety of pieces programmed for wide audience appeal.  Admission is free; however, a free will offering will be received. For more information please contact Jennifer Carr at 589-4611.
