Concepcion G. Salas, 97

Alamosa resident Concepcion G. Salas, 97, passed away peacefully January 26, 2018 at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Concepcion was welcomed into the world on June 21, 1920 in Marathon, Texas, the daughter of Dionisio Salas and Cornelia Gamboa. Concepcion was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great -grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, going shopping and spending as much time as she could with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter Rosemary Monclova of Alamosa, CO; grandchildren Martha Archuleta (Nick Vigil) of Alamosa, CO; Liz (Bill) Martinez of Ft. Garland, CO; Mike Monclova of Alamosa, CO; Fabian (Naomi) Monclova of Pueblo, CO; great-grandchildren Chris (Candice) Archuleta, Jeremy Archuleta (Leanna Brazel), Angelica (Trevin Mondragon) Monclova ,William Martinez, great-great-grandchildren Gabriel Archuleta, Isabel Archuleta, Wyatt Archuleta,  Ezykiel Archuleta,  Makiya Mondragon, Treycin Mondragon, Mariah Monclova, Nickolas Monclova, Allyah Monclova, Joseph Monclova, Isaiah Monclova. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Concepcion was preceded in death by her parents Dionisio Salas and Cornelia Gamboa and nine older siblings.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. Interment will follow at the Alamosa Cemetery. The family wishes to thank all who provided comfort and care to our loved one, Dr. Kulp, Alamosa Hospital Staff and the San Luis Care Center. The care of arrangements have been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
