Del Norte resident Cleofas Trujillo, 88, passed away October 18, 2017 at the River Valley Inn Nursing Home with her loving family by her side. Cleo was born on November 30, 1928 in Pagosa Junction, Colorado, the beloved daughter of Gaspar Giron and Pilar Archuleta Giron. Cleo devoted her life to caring for her family. She was an amazing and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed sewing, gambling, going to the mountains for picnics and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters Mary Elaine (Michael) Young of Durango, CO; Celina Algien of Pueblo West, CO; Steve (Maggie) Trujillo of Del Norte, CO; Vito (Geraldine) Trujillo of Lakewood, CO; grandchildren Christina, Nathan, Kayla, Kara, Krista and Angelo and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cleo was preceded in death by her parents Gaspar and Pilar Giron, husband Rudy Trujillo, son Joseph Trujillo, grandson Christopher Trujillo, brothers Herminio, Nicomedes, Mike, Tana and two sisters Clorinda and Katie Trujillo.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Monday, October 23,2017 at 7:00 PM at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Del Norte. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 10:00 AM also at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Del Norte Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday from 1-5 PM at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Monte Vista. The care of arrangements have been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of Monte Vista.
