Alamosa resident Clara V. Cortez, 93, passed away on April 4, 2017 in Alamosa, Colorado. She was born on February 8, 1924 in Los Cerritos, Colorado to Daniel Valdez and Felicita Duran Cortez. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the Senior Citizens Center and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter June Archuleta, her grandchildren; Reggie Archuleta, Regina Archuleta, Amy Martinez, Angelo Archuleta, Abraham Archuleta, Robbie Cortez and Patsy Garcia as well as 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernest Cortez and her sisters Ida Salazar, Juanita Maestas and Mary Gonzales.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday April 12, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa.  A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday April 11, 2017 also at the church.  Interment will follow services in the Alamosa Cemetery.  To express condolences, please visit www.rogersfunerals.com
