City Hall kicks off Celebration of Lights on Friday night

ALAMOSA — Join the City of Alamosa at 6 p.m. on Friday its annual Celebration of Lights.

This year, the event begins at City Hall on 300 Hunt Avenue where Adams State University’s 68 West — an a cappella ensemble — will entertain the audience with its favorite Christmas carols.

After the performance, there will be a gathering in front of City Hall for a few announcements and then, the illumination ceremony will commence.

After the lighting, the crowd will stroll down to the Narrow Gauge Book Cooperative at 602 Main Street where everyone can warm up, enjoy festive goodies, and give the children a chance to share their Christmas wishes with Santa.

All are encouraged to bring their shopping lists, celebrate the start of the holiday season and get a jump on those Christmas purchases by shopping local.

The Celebration of Lights is sponsored by the City of Alamosa, the Alamosa County Chamber of Commerce, ASU Music, and the Narrow Gauge Book Cooperative.
