City declares Adams State Cross Country Day

Alamosa City Councilor Liz Thomas Hensley presents the Adams State Cross Country Day proclamation to Coach Damon Martin, center, during Alamosa city council’s December 6th meeting. Flanking them from left are Adams State University Athletic Director Larry Mortensen, City Councilors David Broyles, Jan Vigil and Michael Carson and Mayor Ty Coleman.

The city’s proclamation recognizes that Adams State men’s and women’s programs have recently won two national titles in cross country and the running programs have won 54 national titles, bringing recognition and honor to the Alamosa community. The city declared December 8 as Adams State Cross Country Day, and the cross country student athletes will be honored tonight during halftime at the men’s basketball game at ASU.
