Cidelia S. Pacheco

Antonito resident Cidelia "Lela" S. Pacheco, 98, passed away peacefully on Dec. 30, 2022. Cidelia was born on Oct. 4, 1924, in Ortiz, Colo. She was the daughter of Abram Salas and Ruperta Lopez Salas. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who was well known from the work she did as a cook for the Conejos School District.

She was a firecracker, she loved dancing and listening to music. Her favorite things to do were cooking meals for her family and friends, doing yard work and going to bingo.

Cidelia revolved her life around her family and making sure they were all taken care of. There was nothing more precious to her than the time she was able to spend with all of her children, grand, great and great- great-grandchildren.

Cidelia will live on through her children Dora (Bonifacio) Martinez of Denver, Colo.; Maggie (Andy) Archuleta of Greely, Colo.; Ellie (Leopoldo) DuPont of Denver, Colo.; Steve (Ladonna) Pacheco of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Lourdes (Ray) Trujillo of Alamosa, Colo.; Casey Pacheco of Antonito, Colo., grandchildren Alvin Martinez, Joleene Pratt, Joe Pratt, David Martinez, Laura Gaytan Lugo, Deanna Archuleta, Rob Gutierrez, Pamela DuPont, Dawn DuPont, Ricky Perea Sr., Stephan Pacheco, Alexandra Lou Pacheco, Rita Trujillo-Jaramillo, Timothy Jaramillo, Robbie Trujillo, Monica Trujillo, Jonathan Trujillo, Phyllis Pacheco, Damien Pacheco, Josh Pacheco, Denise Pacheco,  25 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and one sister Ida Vigil of Espanola, N.M. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cidelia was preceded in death by her parents Abram and Ruperta Salas, husband Osmundo Alonzo Pacheco, son Abraham Pacheco, grandchildren Aaron Martinez, Ryan Pacheco,  brothers Valentin and Sejefredo Salas, sisters Tilla Tafoya, Beatrice Medina, Elsira Vigil and Dellia Lucero.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, from 1-4 p.m. at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the Cristo El Rey Assembly of God Church in Antonito. Burial will follow at the Ortiz Cemetery.

The care of arrangements has been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
