Children enjoy annual tradition

Youngster find the brightly colored eggs left in Boyd Park by American Legion members and volunteers during the Legion’s annual Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday. The annual Easter Egg Hunt has been sponsored by the American Legion Post 113 since 1938.

Not quite sure about what’s about to happen, and definitely sure she’s not letting go of that familiar hand, Nevaeh waits with other children for the beginning of the Easter egg hunt in Alamosa’s Boyd Park.

Youngsters line up with their Easter baskets to collect eggs and prizes during the American Legion’s Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday in Boyd Park in Alamosa. The youth, ages 1-10, were divided into younger and older groups and then allowed to scour a designated area for eggs, stuffed animals and plastic eggs to be exchanged for prizes. American Legion Post 113 has sponsored the hunt since 1938.
