Catherine Rivera, 63, passed away December 25, 2018 with her loving family by her side.

She was born to parents Steve Ortega and Lucy LeBlanc, September 13, 1955 in Denver, Colorado. Cathy would tell you that her greatest accomplishments were her children.

Cathy lived in Monte Vista, Colorado for most of her life and raised her children there. If you knew Cathy, she was the fashionista of her family and was always fixed up, and ready for the day. She was dedicated to her family and their happiness and expressed that by cooking them delicious meals and spending time with them. She had a great sense of humor and her laughter was contagious.

Cathy was blessed with a family who loved her very much and she will be missed by her daughter Felisitas Marrufo (Arnulfo), son Christopher Rivera, and daughter Anjelica Hernandez (Lance), and daughter Ramona and son Russell, her grandchildren Nyelie, Maggie, Ayanna, Diamante, Milliani, Miguel, and baby Zayn, her brothers Michael Ortega and Timothy Montoya, sisters Yolanda Ortega, Lori Ortega, and Juanita Montoya and many nieces and nephews.

She is loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Cathy is preceded in death by her grandson baby Arnulfo Angel Marrufo, father Steve Ortega, mother Lucy Dominguez, grandparents Manuel and Isabella LeBlanc, and nephew Jr. Acosta.

Viewing ceremony will be on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Strohmayer’s Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on January 2, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Grace Community Baptist Church, 403 Lincoln Avenue, in Monte Vista, Colorado.
