Carol J. Milton, 82

Long time Alamosa resident Carol J. Milton, 82, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Carol worked at the San Luis Valley Ranches for years in the 70’s. She went on to do many great things for her community. She was a Girl Scout leader, member of I.O.O.F., Rebekahs, she was an Eastern Star member, she was a life time member of the Elks Lodge, and she also worked in the craft department at Walmart. She was an avid crafter. Mom never knew a stranger, she always said it doesn’t cost you anything to smile and say hi. She definitely had the gift of gab and made anybody who knew her, feel welcomed and loved. She will be missed extremely by her family and friends. She loved her family so much and showed it in every way possible.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Raymond D. Milton, her parents Edwin LaRue Hughes and Elsie Marie Hughes, her loving sister Katheryne Marie Balderson, as well as her great grandson Richard Joseph Neal Bourn Jr..

She is survived by her daughters Robin (Paul) Richthammer, Fawn Tatro (Paul Wertz), Tina Milton, as well as her nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, her sister; Barbara (Mick) Ray, four brothers Virgil (Clara) Hughes, Paul (Cindy) Hughes, Richard (Arlene) Hughes, And Albert (Leah) Hughes.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday October 28th at 1:00 pm at the Elks Lodge in Alamosa 406 Hunt Ave. This will be a potluck so bring your best dish and stories to share. To express condolences please visit www.rogersfunerals.com.
