Car show caps busy summer in Creede

CREEDE– A fun-packed summer in Creede continues Saturday with the annual “Cruisin’ the Canyon” Car Show downtown, featuring cars, trucks and motorcycles in many of the fall colors already exploding in the hills around town.

The show will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with awards to follow. Many of the participants will then enjoy a “rod run” to North Clear Creek Falls and enjoy a delicious burger at Freemon’s General Store.

Show participants may register at the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, followed by a meet and greet there from 4-6 p.m.

The Creede Elks Lodge will be offering breakfast and lunch on Saturday and the weekend will cap with a fly-in breakfast at the Creede Airport on Sunday.

Friday and Saturday will also be the final regular season performances at the Creede Repertory Theatre. For information, go to www.creederep.org.
