Calvin Dean Junker, 88

Antonito resident Calvin Dean Junker, 88, went to his eternal rest on January 23, 2019 at the Rio Grande Inn in La Jara, surrounded by his loving family. Cal was born on November 4, 1930 in Fairbury, Nebraska, the son of William A. Junker and Lucille Griffith Junker. Cal was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He was a loving and extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed working with steel, building trailers, yard art, going hunting and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Maureen Junker of Antonito, CO; daughters Marjorie (Ranger) Duran of Parker, CO; Julie Smith of La Jara, CO; step-daughters Becky (Richard) Vondrak of Conejos, CO; Lisa (Ivan) Martinez of Mogote, CO; son Roger Junker of La Jara, CO; step-son Jerry (Mary) Frank of Lynwood, IL; 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, sister Shirley Howell of Fairbury, NE; brothers Bruce (Peggy) Junker of Fairbury, NE; Dale (Gloria) Junker of Sebeka, MN. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cal was preceded in death by his parents William and Lucille Junker, one brother Roland Junker, step-daughter Cindy Frank and one step-son Jimmy Frank.
