Bouchey earns Ph.D. from Brown University

ALAMOSA — Stephanie Nicole Quintana Bouchey, daughter of Ronald and Arliene Quintana of Alamosa, received her Ph.D. from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island on May 27. Her Ph.D. is in Earth, Environment and Planetary Sciences. Her education is as follows:

Attended elementary-middle school, and one semester of high school in Gunnison, (1992-2001).

Attended and graduated high school in Salida (2005).

Graduated from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden with a B.S. in Engineering with a Mechanical Specialty and a minor in International Studies (2011).

-while an undergrad, had two internships at NASA (Marshall Space Flight Center and Kennedy Space Center, 2009), and studied abroad at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan for one year (2007-08)

Attained a M.Sc. from Brown University (2013)

Attained a Ph.D. from Brown University, Providence, RI (2017)

-while there, interned at the Lunar and Planetary Institute (2011), interned twice at Sandia National Laboratories (2012, 2013), and interned with the GeoCorps America Program, partnered with the US Forest Service (2016)

She will begin at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM as a senior member of technical staff (mechanical engineering) in August.
