ALAMOSA — Dust off that bike, grease up the chain, and join the community garden tour, Bikes & Bites Garden Tour, on Wednesday, August 30, beginning at 5 p.m. from the Rio Grande Farm Park, 6935 Colorado Highway 17, Alamosa. 

A progressive dinner will feature the produce from the four locations to be visited: The Farm Park (appetizers), ASU Campus Garden (salad), Alamosa Community Greenhouse (dinner) and Boyd Community Garden (dessert). 

Suggested donation for the event is from $5-10. RSVP to VEGI at 719-589-4567.  VEGI (Valley Educational Gardens Initiative), a program of La Puente, is hosting the event. 

Sponsors are Adams State University, Integrated Nutrition Education Program (INEP), and the Alamosa Community Greenhouse. 

Arrive at the Farm Park early (4:30 p.m.) to decorate bikes with reclaimed materials. Those who need a bike may contact VEGI at 589-4567.
