Betty Valdez, age 79 of Fort Garland, Colorado passed away on Saturday June 16, 2018. She was born on May 8, 1939 in Sterling, Colorado the daughter of Louie and Mary Duran.

Betty was united in marriage to Fred Valdez on February 7, 1958 in Sterling, Colorado. Betty was a loving, patient, generous, kind, and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who loved to read, travel, watch movies, cook, and spend time with her family.

Betty and her husband of 57 years Fred Valdez retired to Fort Garland, Colorado and traveled the country for several years in their Winnebago. Betty was the heart and soul of her family and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by five siblings, six children, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and her beloved dog Daisy.

Betty was preceded in death by her much loved husband Fred Valdez, parents, Louie and Mary Duran, and brother Walter Duran.

Cremation was selected and services will be held at Fort Logan in Denver, Colorado. A reception to mourn her passing and celebrate her life will follow the services. Date and time are undetermined.
