Monte Vista resident Bernadette B. Lopez, 58, was called home on September 4, 2022. She passed in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. Born on May 16, 1964, in Manassa, Co., the beloved daughter of Gaspar O. Lopez and Virginia Sandoval Lopez.

Bernadette was well known in the community through the years of dedicated services she did working for Safeway. Bernadette always had a smile and would be the first to help anyone in need. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, going to the mountains, riding ATVs, cooking, baking and spending as much time as she could with her children and grandchildren.  She was so loved and will be dearly missed.

Her legacy will live on through her sons Eric Pacheco (Trazana Duran) of Manassa, Co.; Dereck Pacheco of Monte Vista, Co.; 5 grandchildren Xavier Pacheco, Izabella Pacheco, Miguel Pacheco, Ayden Romero, Xalayah Gallardo; sisters  Teresita (Richard) Quintana of Manassa, CO; Luella Lopez of Alamosa, Co.; Judy (Frank) Aragon of Longmont, Co.; Cathy Lopez (Charles Reichmann) of Alamosa, Co.; brothers Gaspar (Pauline) Lopez of Bountiful, Co.; Leonard (Sally) Lopez of Manassa, CO. She is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.

Bernadette was preceded in death by her mother Virginia Lopez.

Cremation was chosen. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 7 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Manassa. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11 a.m. also at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
