MANASSA—Benjamin Sowards of Manassa, is currently serving a mission in the California Arcadia Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He left in July of 2015 and is expected to return in July of 2017. He was trained for three weeks at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah.

Benjamin graduated from Centauri High School in 2015. He is the third child of the five children of Bart and Nanette Sowards of Manassa. He earned his Eagle Scout, participated in cross country, was in the National Honor Society, and the FCCLA.

Upon returning from his mission Benjamin plans on attending Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. He reports that he has enjoyed different cultures and in particular working with people.
