VALLEY — Several bazaars and craft fairs are scheduled in coming weeks in the San Luis Valley including:

After Prom craft fair

ALAMOSA — The Alamosa High School After Prom Committee will host a Christmas Craft Fair on Friday, Dec. 1, 5-9 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 2, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Alamosa High School Commons Area. There will be a basketball tournament running as well, which will contribute significantly to vendor traffic.

Sacred Heart bazaar

ALAMOSA — “Holiday Bazaar 2017” will be held Friday, Dec 1st from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec 2nd from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 709 4th St. in Alamosa.

Faistl Hall is once again filled with the wonderful works of many talented artists and crafters. The church booths include a White Elephant Sale, Silent Auction, Bake Sale and “The SHC Candy Bar.”

In the Fireplace Room a large Christmas village will be on display. Villages seem to bring out the awe and wonder in all, young & old. It is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy a free cup of coffee.

Breakfast and lunch will be served both days. Friday evening, there will be a Navajo Taco dinner. Dinner will be served from 4:30- 7 p.m. Dinner tickets are $6 and are available in the parish office or at the door.

Alamosa Senior Center bazaar

ALAMOSA — The Annual Christmas Bazaar at the Alamosa Senior Center will feature many great items including quilts, art pieces, afghans, specialty baskets and a variety of jewelry, items for the home and crafts. Join the senior center on December 2nd from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Breakfast begins at 8 am and seniors be serving breakfast burritos (sausage, potatoes, scrambled eggs, green chili & cheese), coffee, tea, hot chocolate, orange juice or milk for $7 & homemade cinnamon rolls for $2.  Silent auction items, hand crafts & baked goods are available for purchase from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Raffle drawing takes place at 1 p.m. Prizes include: 1st - “Barnyard boss” framed painting donated by Jim Gilmore, 2nd - “Social Circle Blues” handmade quilt donated by Rhonda Borders, 3rd - $50 Amazon Gift Card, 4th-$25 gift card donated by Valley Meat. Tickets are $3 for one & $10 for five. Stop by the center to purchase tickets.

The Alamosa Senior Center is located at 92 Colorado in Alamosa adjacent to Cole Park.

Christmas bazaar in Center

CENTER — The Center United Methodist Church will be holding their annual Christmas Bazaar on Dec. 2. The bazaar will be starting at 9 a.m. this year. The church is located at 387 4th St. in Center. There will be wreaths and centerpieces made from live greens. Also there will be candy, cookies, baked goods and craft items.

There will be no turkey dinner at noon this year. The church will have tables set up with light refreshments so that guests can sit and visit with friends and neighbors.

Holiday bazaar in Saguache

SAGUACHE— The seventh annual holiday bazaar will be held Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Saguache Community Building, 7th and Christy Ave. from 9 a.m-3 p.m. Art, jewelry, spices, potions, clothes, lots of artisan products. Santa will be there from 1-3 p.m. The event is sponsored by Friends of the Saguache Public Library. Stay for the Fourth Street Open House and Tree Lighting! Villa Mall HobbyTown Craft Fair

ALAMOSA — The Villa Mall HobbyTown Craft Fair is on again at 3211 Main Street, Alamosa! It will be held on Saturday, December 9th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature handcrafted gifts, jewelry, woodworking and local crafts.

Come visit and support local micro business people.

Vendor spaces are available. To get a registration form, simply pick one up at HobbyTown or email Tammy at [email protected] to have one sent electronically.

SdC hosts fund-raiser

MOSCA — On Saturday, Dec. 9, a Community Shopping Event is planned at Sangre de Cristo school cafeteria from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. This event will feature local crafters and home-based business owners and is the perfect chance to finish your holiday shopping! It’s is also a fundraiser for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). Throughout the day, items from the vendors will be raffled off and proceeds will go to JDRF to support their search for the cure of Type 1 diabetes- an autoimmune disease that affects every day life of children and adults around the globe.
