Augustine John Cisneros, 57, born on March 9, 1966, in La Jara, peacefully passed away on Dec. 28, 2023, in Portsmouth, Va. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Augustine, known for his love of fishing, camping, and the beach.

He cherished spending time with his two sons, three grandchildren, and his extended family.

His passion for travel took him to numerous states, creating memories that will be treasured forever. A veteran of the US Army who served in Desert Storm, Augustine's dedication and service to his country were unwavering.

Augustine is survived by his wife Shannon Cisneros of Portsmouth, Va.; sons David Cisneros of Hampton, Va., and Dally (Harvest) Cisneros of Hampton, Va.; sisters Kathy (Jimmy) Duran of Guadalupe, Colo., Monica (Steve) Espinoza of La Jara, Colo., Barbara (Andy) Marquez of La Jara, Colo.; cousin Jason Walden of Capulin, Colo., who was like a brother; and grandchildren Liam, Aubree, and Khaza Cisneros of Hampton, Va. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Augustine was preceded in death by his parents David and Priscilla Cisneros, his paternal grandparents Gilbert and Eufela Cisneros, and maternal grandparents Jose and Virginia Medina.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in La Jara, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection.
