In a show of appreciation, community members poured in to the Alamosa Fire Department with pizza, beverages and other treats for firefighters Tuesday night after a long day that saw the department battling a 400-plus acre wild fire and two structure fires. Fire services from across the Valley, local law enforcement and other city/county workers joined in the fight on one of the windiest days in San Luis Valley history.
