ASU Food Pantry will host grand opening Sept. 25

ALAMOSA – The Adams State University Office of Student Life created a Food Pantry to help meet the needs of students. According to Aaron Miltenberger, director of Student Life, a food insecurity study was conducted about 18 months ago and results indicated a significant number of students often make a choice between a necessary cost or eating.

In conjunction with the Annual La Puente sponsored HOPE Week, the Adams State food pantry will celebrate a grand opening from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25. The food pantry is located in the Student Life Center, on the north end of the Student Union Building. The event is free and open to the community.

The Adams State Food Pantry partners with the Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley and Care and Share, located in Colorado Springs.
