Annie A Vialpando

Annie A Vialpando, lifelong resident of Manassa, CO, passed away on December 19, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Annie was born on February 16, 1926 in Los Cerritos, CO to Severiano Salazar and Requilda Mestas.

She married Lee Vialpando, the love of her life, on December 2, 1946 upon his return from fulfilling his military duty. They established their home in Manassa where they raised their son and daughter. Lee and Annie were a team, working together throughout their entire life.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Vialpando (Lillian Espinoza) from Greeley CO., daughter Lucille Ruybal, Grand Junciton, CO., grand children Jake Ruybal (Nataya Songsap), Denver CO., Tamara Ruybal, Laila (Caleb) Marquardt, and Maya Ruybal, Grand Junction, CO., great grand children Austin Ruybal, Kaiyon and Traeton dePrado and Tatyana Marquardt all of grand junction, brother Amador Salazar, Canyon City, CO, and sister Bernice Salazar Miller, Colorado Springs, CO., along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters and three brothers.

She will be remembered as a kind and generous woman that loved to make quilts and rosaries which she proudly gave to her children and grandchildren. She was a great cook and baked the most delicious prune pies. She enjoyed the trips she took in her younger days and the outings with her niece, Christine Mondragon, in her later years.

Recitation if the Rosary will be held on Thursday, December 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa, Colorado. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday December 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Manassa. Burial will follow at Los Cerritos cemetery.
