Annette Chacon

Annette P Chacon, 64, of Alamosa, passed away Tuesday May 14, 2024, at SLV Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Annette was born and raised in Capulin, Colo., to Isidore and Louise Muniz. She was one of 11 kids and was said to be the Peacemaker of the family.

Annette married the love of her life Albert I Chacon Jr. on Feb 21, 1981, and to this happy union had three children. Annette was a homemaker most of her life, although she did work as a cook at the Alamosa School District for several years. She was a great cook and loved making meals for her children and grandchildren. Annette’s grandchildren were her biggest joy and she loved spending time with them; watching cartoons, playing games, doing puzzles, or just feeding them candy and sugar. They will miss her dearly.

Preceding Annette in death are her parents, Isidore and Louise (Valdez) Muniz; brothers Sider, Tom, Eugene, Augie, and Toby Muniz; sister Lucille & brother-in-law Adam Resendes; in-laws Albert I Chacon Sr and Priscilla Chacon; brothers-in-law Matt Chacon and Yoichi Terahara.

Annette is survived by her husband of 43 years, Albert I Chacon Jr; son and daughter-in-law Albert I Chacon III and Andrea DeHerrera-Chacon; daughters Amy Chacon and Ashley Salazar; grandchildren Athena Chacon, Autumn Chacon, Alexander Chacon, Brayden Salazar, Amelianna Salazar, Matteo Chacon, and Addilynn Salazar; siblings Anthony Muniz and family; Marie and Ed Chavez and family; Connie and Richard Atencio and family; Kristina Muniz and Yurle Cook and family; Kay and Jesse Salinas and family; Karen Terahara and family; Julie Espinoza and family.

Services will be held Friday, May 24, 2024, at St Joseph’s Church in Capulin with the Rosary starting at 9:30 a.m. and Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m.
