ALAMOSA — Society Hall, the performance space, concert hall and community gathering place at 400 Ross Ave. in Alamosa, is proud to welcome the award-winning California Country Records artist Alice Wallace and her band to the Society Hall stage, on Friday, October 21st, at 7:30 p.m. for a night of her fabulous Americana and roots music.

Wallace's music mixes elements of classic country, folk and blues into songs about love, loss and life on the road. Her powerful, elastic singing and melodic, literate song-crafting have been earning her accolades across the country over the past several years from local and regional publications including No Depression and The Alternate Root. The LA Music Critic Awards named her “Best Country/Americana Artist” in 2016, and “Best Country Artist” in early 2017, and her latest album on California Country Records was listed in 7 categories on the first-round Grammy ballot this year. No Depression says of Alice, "Her voice is rich and velvety, with soul and character all her own. She will be bringing her full band with her on this last southwest tour of the year, with Tom Bremer on guitar, Austin Callender on bass and Josh Huppert on drums.  This tour comes on the heels of Alice and her band’s performance as an official showcase artist at the Americana Music Association Festival in Nashville in September. And in August, she and her band had the opportunity to open for The Band Perry at the Pacific Amphitheater in southern California to a crowd of approximately 5,500.  She also recently released a new single titled “Echo Canyon” that has been getting rave reviews from sites such as Saving Country Music and The Alternate Root. Born in Los Angeles but raised in Florida, Wallace developed an interest in music as a child thanks to her musically-inclined family. Taking up the guitar at 10 and returning to music in earnest at 15, Wallace absorbed a variety of influences: parental favorites like Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris; ‘80s and ‘90s country performers such as Dwight Yoakam, Patty Loveless, and Mary Chapin Carpenter; and singer-songwriters like Jewel, Alanis Morisette and Sarah McLachlan.
