Alice L Cooley, age 90, from Mosca, Colorado died peacefully January 27th, 2018 at the San Luis Valley Health Hospital. 

Alice was born in Burns, Colorado on July 27th, 1928 the daughter of L. D. & Alpha Pierson.   She had 4 siblings and remained close to them throughout her life.  She moved to Mosca, Colorado in the 7th grade and graduated from Hooper Consolidated Schools where she met her soon to be husband, Billy Lee Cooley.  She and Bill eloped on May 4th, 1948 to New Mexico and were happily married for 59 years until Bill passed away in 2008.  They resided in Mosca, Colorado where they had three children, Linda Lee Cooley Bobby Ray Cooley, and Denny Lynn Cooley.  Alice was a loving wife and mother.  She loved to garden and spend time outside working in her flowerbeds.  She enjoyed visiting and drinking coffee with her friends and loved being around her family.  She loved her grandchildren, Dallas Annette Cooley-Gartner, Charla Rae Cooley, Dillon Cooley Johnson and absolutely adored her great grandchildren, Cody Parker, Cory Parker, Jay Gartner, Luca Johnson, and Coda Johnson.  She stated once that she was so lucky to be able to have a grandchild sitting in her lap at any time in her life.  She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and loved spending time with them any time she could. 

Alice is survived by her 2 children, Linda Cooley and Bobby Cooley, her 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Alice is preceded in death by husband Billy Lee Cooley, her son Denny Lynn Cooley, her parents, L. D. & Alpha Pierson, her brothers Roy Pierson, Fred Pierson, and Jay Pierson, and her sister Wanda Buffalo.
