Manassa resident Alfonso Romero, passed away November 14, 2018 at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center. Alfonso was born on May 19, 1939 in Antonito, Colorado, the beloved son of Alejandrino Romero and Eloisa Perez Romero. Alfonso was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed gardening, fishing, outdoors, and spending time with all his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Rosa H. Rios-Romero, son Jason (Meredith) Romero of Westlake Village, CA; grandchildren Stephen Romero of Thousand Oaks, CA; Leonardo, Mateo, Helena Romero all of Westlake Village, CA; siblings Alex Romero of Farmington, NM, Mary Romero of Albuquerque, NM, Albert Romero of Littleton, CO, Steve Romero of Littleton, CO; and Amar Romero of Albuquerque, NM, Denise Montoya of Denver, CO; Celeste Salazar of Romeo, CO; Prax Montoya of Alamosa, CO; Darlene Montoya of Greeley, CO; special friend Michelle Abeyta of Manassa, CO. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Alfonso was preceded in death by his parents Alejandrino and Eloisa Romero and one son Derek Romero and one sister Natalie Montoya.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 7:00 PM at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Manassa. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 10:00 AM also at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at the Los Cerritos Cemetery.
