Aleida De Boer, 90

ALAMOSA — Aleida De Boer was born Aug. 6, 1929, to Hendrik Johan and Grada (Bulten) Heersink, in Laren, Gelderland, Netherlands.

She passed away Feb. 27, at The Cottages in Pella.

Aleida grew up in the Netherlands and attended school there.

She came to the United States when she was 18, with her family and settled in Alamosa.

On Nov. 25, 1950, she was united in marriage to Gerben Heersink. Following his death, she married Albert De Boer on April 12, 1984 and resided in Jenison.

She came to Pella after the death of Albert to live by family.

Aleida loved gardening and flowers, cooking and cats.

She crocheted around hangers and made booties for many family members.

She was a member of Baldwin Street Christian Reformed Church in Jenison.

Aleida is survived by two sons, Harry (Madeline) Heersink of Ontario and Stanley (Cindy) Heersink of Pella; two stepsons, William (Carol) De Boer of Wayland and Raymond De Boer of Grand Rapids; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Adolf (Florence) Heersink of Ontario; sister, Johanna Senti of Ontario; and two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Heersink of Chicago and Mary Byl of Jenison; and several nieces and nephews.

Aleida was preceded in death by her first husband Gerben Heersink, their son Wesley, and her second husband, Albert De Boer.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 2, at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella.
