Antonito resident Alberto D. Pineda went to be with the Lord on May 17, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. On April 20, 1932, Alberto was welcomed into the world by his loving parents Adolpho Pineda and Vicenta DeLeon Pineda who preceded him in death.

Alberto started working at a very young age to help provide for his family. Although he only attended school to the third grade, he was a very intelligent man who grew up to be a very hard worker and a father to 11 children.

Later in his life he met his life companion Elvira Gurule whom he cherished till her passing.

Alberto was well known for his masonry work and the adobes he would make. He also loved to go for rides to the mountains, listening to music, and would always plant one of the most beautiful gardens and flowers every year and would spend his days tending to them. In the evening you would find him in his den on his recliner watching his novellas.

But his greatest pastime was the time he spent with his loving family and friends. Alberto will be missed by all who knew him.

His legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren: Martha Valdez of Romeo, Colo., Lorraine (Robert) Cummings of La Jara, Colo., Bertha (Jose De la Luz) Giron, Jose Alberto (Simonian Maldonado) Pineda, Armando (Maglena Gonzales) Pineda, one sister Luz Pineda, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alberto was preceded in death by his parents Adolfo Pineda and Vicenta DeLeon Pineda, Companion Elvira Gurule, five sons; Fidel Pineda, Juan Manuel Pineda, Sergio Pineda, Pedro Pineda, Rafael Pineda, and one daughter Silvia Catalina Pineda, Eufilia Pireda, Carolina Pidea, Jovita Pidera.

Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 6 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Conejos. Mass of the Resurrection will be Monday, May 22, 2023, at 11 a.m. also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Conejos with interment to follow at the La Jara Cemetery.
