ORANGE CITY, Iowa—Kara Gesink and Alissa Sinclair are among 267 graduates to receive bachelor’s degrees at Northwestern College’s commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 13. Thirty-one students received Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees, while the rest of the graduating seniors were granted Bachelor of Arts degrees.

Dr. Rick Melmer, director of Leadership South Dakota, is giving the commencement address. Internationally renowned opera star Simon Estes was awarded an honorary doctorate.

Gesink graduated with a major in accounting and business administration/marketing from Northwestern College. She is the daughter of Elbert and Marla Gesink of Alamosa.

Sinclair graduated with a major in art and elementary education from Northwestern College. She is the daughter of Matt and Eva Sinclair of Alamosa.

Northwestern College is a Christian college of more than 1,250 students in Orange City, Iowa.
