Alamosa Seniors: Seniors host Early Iron Breakfast

ALAMOSA — Join the Alamosa Senior Citizens as we celebrate Labor Day weekend and the Early Iron Festival Saturday, September 2nd!  The Early Iron Breakfast, held here at the Center (92 Colorado Ave) from 7-10 a.m. will consist of biscuits and savory sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, hash browns, coffee, tea, milk and juice. The cost is $7 and $4 for children 12 and under. “Straight Outta Alamosa” t-shirts will also be on sale for $10 apiece while supplies last!

We’re getting close to cut off time, so be sure and sign up for the Branson, Missouri trip! The luxury bus departs the Center on Saturday, November 11th for 9 days and 8 nights! Deposits are $75/person through the end of August with the final payment ($849/person or $774 if you have already paid the deposit) due by September 11th. There will be no chair yoga for the month of September. We are looking at moving to twice weekly beginning in October! More information on dates will be available toward the end of September. Thank you Chayne Boutillette!

On Wednesday, September 6th, the Alamosa Senior Citizen’s bus will depart at 8 am for Cities of Gold Casino! Call now to schedule your reservation!

Intro to line dancing with Karen Stills takes place on Monday, September 11th and Monday, September 18th at 10 am. Come and join Karen in preparation for the regular line dance class which begins on Tuesday, October 3rd. Steps taught include 2 step, side touches, box step, reverse box, hitch 6, hitch 3, walking steps, knee hitch, cha-cha & waltz.

If you are interested in a Safer Driving class provided by AARP, please call Fred Jones @ 719-657-3500. Class will be held on Saturday, October 14th from 1 – 5 p.m.

* Craft Projects each Tuesday @ 10 a.m.

* Write Your Story Class each Monday @ 10 a.m.

* Dime Bingo, M-Th from 1 pm-3 pm. Free to members. $2 fee for non-members.

* Free 5 Point ear acupuncture each Wed @ 10:30 a.m. for those 50 and over.

* Free 5 point ear acupuncture each Tuesday @ 10:30 a.m. for veterans and immediate family.

* Walk to Connect - Thursday, September 7th, 21st, 28th @ 10 a.m.

* Dominoes - Fridays @ 12:30 p.m.

* Chess - Thursdays @ 1 p.m.
