Alamosa Seniors: Join seniors for concert today

“Whatever else be lost among the years,                                                                                                                                    Let us keep Christmas still a shining thing;

Whatever doubts assail us, or what fears,                                                                                                                                        Let us hold close one day, remembering

Its poignant meaning for the hearts of men.                                                                                                                                             Let us get back our childlike faith again.”

ALAMOSA — Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Alamosa Senior Citizens! Join us this Wednesday, December 20th at 11 a.m. as Joy Plesner & Co. present a Holiday Violin Concerto! Come and enjoy this special treat! (I heard there would also be pre-lunch cookies and coffee!)

We will be closed on Monday, December 25th and Tuesday, December 26th.  We will re-open on Wednesday, December 27th at 8 a.m. Have a blessed Christmas filled with joy and happiness!

Beginning January 10th, the Senior Center will be hosting a Crochet/Knitting Group that will meet at 11 a.m. Bring your current project and any questions you may have. Some very knowledgeable and experienced folks will be there to help.

If you are interested in learning (or already know how) to play the game Mah Jongg, join a new group Wednesday, January 10th at 1 p.m. Mah Jongg is a game that helps to keep your brain sharp and supercharged! It is a game of matching tiles that has long been popular with older people in Asian countries and has now gone global! In contrast to more solitary games like Sudoku and Solitaire, Mah Jongg is also a great way to socialize, as you can play the table game version with multiple players. The type of social connection that comes from playing games like Mah Jongg is thought by some neurologists to be one of the most important elements of keeping our brain healthy.
