Three High Altitude Challenge runs in September
ALAMOSA – There will be three High Altitude Challenge Fun Run races in September.
The runs are open to runners ages 2-14 and they will take place on Sept. 15, 22 and 29. The race time is 4:30 p.m. all three days and are located at the Alamosa Family Recreation Center. Registration is now until race day.
In the first race, runners can receive $1 off at the jersey themed skate night, and in the final races, runners can receive $2 off for the same event.
The roller rink jersey night will be on Sept. 30 at 4 p.m. at the Alamosa Parks and Rec Multipurpose Pavilion.

Registration for adult and youth basketball leagues
ALAMOSA – Registration is taking place for the Alamosa Parks and Recreation adult and youth basketball leagues.
For adult basketball, the regular registration period is now until Oct. 15 with the fee of $175 per team. There will be a last chance registration from Oct. 16-29 with the fee of $200.
There are three divisions – men’s, women’s and coed.
There will be a captains’ meet on Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. at the Alamosa Family Recreation Center.
Team may register online at www.alamosarec.org or in person at the rec. center.
Registration for youth basketball is now until Sept. 22 with a cost of $25 per player.
There will be five divisions – kindergarten-first grade which is coed, second-third grade boys, second-third grade girls, fourth-fifth grade boys and fourth-fifth grade girls.
There will be a coaches’ meeting on Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. at the rec center.
The season runs from Oct. 2 until Dec. 9.
