Alamosa embraces Arbor Week

Alamosa Mayor Josef Lucero presents the Arbor Week proclamation for April 22-28 to tree board members Adam Moore and Marilyn Loser during the April 19th city council meeting. Loser said the goal of the tree board this year is maintenance, “taking care of old and new.” The group also invites community members to tree plantings this week Help plant trees in Alamosa on Wednesday, April 26, at noon in the Alamosa Cemetery and Thursday, April 27, at 10 a.m., in Jardin Hermosa (Tremont and Sixth). Alamosa has been recognized as a Tree City USA for 27 years and twice received the National Arbor Foundation’s Growth Award.
