Alamosa celebrates Christmas lights

A vocal ensemble from Adams State University sings traditional Christmas carols at Alamosa city hall before the annual Christmas lighting Friday evening.

Alamosa County Commissioners Michael Yohn and Helen Sigmond lead out in the lighting of the old Alamosa courthouse, and Alamosa Mayor Pro Tem Liz Hensley and City Councilor Michael Carson invite youngsters to help them flip the switch to turn on the city hall lights on Friday evening during the 11th Annual Alamosa Celebration of Lights. The procession ended at The Roast where youngsters met with Santa. New owners of the historic courthouse building, Gilbert and Alice Duran, were on hand Friday and promised to continue the lighting tradition in the future.
