Adams State hosts annual Solo & Ensemble Festival

ALAMOSA — Every year, the San Luis Valley Music Educator’s Association collaborates with local piano teachers to provide an event where local piano students can play their pieces in front of a judge who critiques and rates their performances. The Solo & Ensemble Festival is coordinated each year by William Lipke, professor of music at Adams State University.

The students performed this week in the Leon Recital Hall at Adams State. Students represented elementary through high school.

Also, there was a band solo and ensemble event at ASU this week. Each student played a prepared piece with accompaniment, and received a critique and rating.
