Adams State hosts 61st CHSCA All-State Games

ALAMOSA — The Colorado High School Coaches Association is proud to announce the 61st All-State Games to be held June 8-12 on the campus of Adams State University.

Featured sports in 2017 include boys and girls basketball, cross country, football, softball, spirit, volleyball, and wrestling. Thanks to the coaches for participating in the selection process, and congratulations to all athletes selected to participate.

Each athlete will receive two complimentary passes (wristbands) in their check-in packets. Additional passes will be available at the gates and are good for entry to all of the All State competitions. (There is no gate and no passes needed for softball or cross country)

Events will begin Tuesday, June 6, with softball and football check in. The softball game will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7. Thursday, June 8, will be the day for wrestling, basketball and volleyball participants to check in.

On Friday, June 9, will be cross country check in followed by the opening ceremonies tailgate at 12 p.m. A wrestling match is scheduled in Plachy Hall at 2 p.m. on June 9, with boys and girls basketball semis at the Alamosa High School (red vs. white) at 4 p.m. and girls and boys basketball semis (black vs. blue) at 5:30 p.m. The football game begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 9.

Saturday, June 10, will feature the girls cross country race at 9 a.m. and the boys cross country race at 9:30 a.m. Also at 9 a.m. will be the girls basketball third place in Plachy and the volleyball semis in the fieldhouse (red vs. white), with the volleyball semis (black vs. blue) at 10:30 a.m. The boys basketball third place game will begin at 11 a.m. on June 10. The volleyball third place game will begin at 1 p.m. in the Fieldhouse, and the girls basketball finals will begin in Plachy at 1 p.m. At 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, will be the volleyball finals in the Fieldhouse and boys basketball finals in Plachy.

Announcing of players with parents and coaches will take place before all third place and championship games, the cross country races and football game.

Senior athletes are nominated by their leagues via a CHSCA league representative in team sports and by CHSCA member coaches in individual sports. The nominations are then voted on by CHSCA member coaches to select the teams.
