ALAMOSA From a dusty road in Manassa to the Chicano Music Hall of Fame, Indian Nickel has taken a musical journey spanning more than 40 years.

The popular area band was inducted into the 2014 Chicano Music Hall of Fame at the Su Teatro Performing Arts and Cultural Center in Denver on July 24, the opening night of the 18th annual Chicano Music Festival.

The Chicano Music Hall of Fame was established in 2002 to celebrate and recognize those who have contributed significantly to the music of Mexico here in the United States. It also recognizes those who introduced and broadened the influence of other musical forms to the Chicano musical community. The focus is on Colorado musicians, and emphasizes the best, the first and the only.
