FORT COLLINS — Those are the words of a song by one of my favorite singers, Ricky Nelson, but unlike Ricky who “traveled all over the world” and “had a girl” in every stop, I have no such thing.
However, I do have friends at every stop, and, unlike Ricky, I’m still alive — and he is not, dying in a plane crash at the young age of 42.
What a tragedy that was. I, on the other hand, at the age of 17 in Larimore, North Dakota, was named the “Ricky Nelson of Larimore High School”, singing Ricky’s songs at such functions as the Prom and the Snowball.
But I digress. My travels last week carried me from the 4th of July Rockies-Dodgers game to Alamosa, and then back to Fort Collins.
