Everything is good in the neighborhood—kind of. On Thursday I discovered that a young man who has been coming into the store fairly often was actually stealing from me. When you are raised to trust everyone, this is pretty devastating. Especially when he came in with his little girl and would buy her a six-pack of flowers—how can anyone who buys flowers be bad? Guess I was the supreme mark.
In trying to get my faith in humanity back I am going to think of all my other customers who are (again) the best. I want to publicly thank Andy Cyrus, who is now on his way to his new home in Oregon, for donating $100 to help purchase an ADA lift for Splashland. Another friend(s) donated $200. On August 1st, a Friday, we will be hosting an Italian dinner at the Bistro Rialto. This will be an evening with LIVE opera music—how often do you get that in Alamosa? Tickets are $20 and there are only 74 available so stop by or give me a call at 580-7838 to reserve yours. There will be no auction, no begging for money---just an evening of fellowship.
