Sermon — Think about it

Posted: Friday, Jun 20th, 2014

In 1978, I buried a son.

I grieved.

I still do.

Grief is defined as “DEEP SORROW.”

To grieve is to “SUFFER GREAT DISTRESS.”

Something that is grievous is “VERY SEVERE.”

It is one of the deepest emotions we know.

Did you know that GOD grieves?

After creation, man regressed to total depravity (Genesis 6.)

“The Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth. And He was grieved in His heart.” (Genesis 6:6)

The 40 years of wanderings in the wilderness, brought on by their own rebellion, were marked by instances of “I know what God said but this is what I want.”

“How often they rebelled against Him in the desert and grieved Him in the wasteland.” (Psalms 78:40)
