ALAMOSA — More than 50 pounds of prescription drugs were handed over to the Alamosa Police Department (APD) Saturday during the National Prescription Drug Take-Back event.
National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
On Saturday, the APD and several other law enforcement agencies around the Valley gave the public the opportunity to properly dispose of unused, unneeded and/or expired prescription medications.
