CONEJOS COUNTY — The state’s seventh avalanche fatality this winter was a member of the Wolf Creek Ski Patrol.
The skier was conducting research in Conejos County when he was caught in an avalanche about 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, according to the Wolf Creek Ski Area. Wolf Creek Spokesperson Rosanne Haidorfer-Pitcher said the ski area was not releasing the skier’s name yet because not all of his family had been notified as of Wednesday evening.
