ALAMOSA — An allegedly drug related drive by shooting on Ninth Street and La Due Avenue last week has the Alamosa Police Department (APD) on the lookout for who is responsible for pulling the trigger.
On Wed., Feb. 12, shortly after 5:30 p.m., APD officers responded to a 911 call at 301 La Due to find a gunshot victim and multiple bullet holes on the exterior of the residence, according to APD reports. After further investigation, bullets were also found to have successfully made their way through a glass screen door. All shots were consistent with a small caliber firearm.
The victim was allegedly shot in the chin, according to APD reports. Officers located a bloody bullet inside the house.
The shooting was not gang related, according to APD reports, but a possible drug deal gone sour.
The drive by shooting investigation remains open and anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers, 589-4111, or the APD, 589-2548. Callers reserve the right to remain anonymous.
