February menus for SLV senior centers

SAN LUIS VALLEY Following are the February menus for the senior centers throughout the San Luis Valley. Reservations are required. Call South Central Colorado Seniors at 589-4511 or sign up at the individual meal sites. All meals are served with 1-percent milk, no trans fat and no salt margarine. Margarine is served with bread products. Menus are subject to change. Meal sites are closed on Fridays.

Wednesday, February 5 Spinach lasagna, green beans, salad/dressing, apricot halves, garlic bread

Thursday, February 6 Lemon baked fish, carrot coins, creamy coleslaw, mandarin oranges, whole wheat bread

Monday, February 10 Green chili stew with pork/black beans, sliced yellow squash, Muenster cheese sticks, peaches, whole wheat tortillas

Tuesday, February 11 Chili relleno casserole, corn/zucchini ole, whole wheat tortilla, plums, oatmeal raisin cookie

Wednesday, February 12 Chicken fried steak, country gravy, mashed potatoes, cauliflower/broccoli mix, drop biscuit, peaches

Thursday, February 13 Beef stroganoff, orange spiced carrots, mixed fruit, brownie, whole wheat bread

Monday, February 17 Macaroni and cheese, broccoli, parsley buttered carrots, mandarin oranges, whole wheat bread

Tuesday, February 18 Vegetable soup, half turkey/roast beef/lettuce sandwich, pineapple cubes, half orange, whole wheat crackers

Wednesday, February 19 Swiss steak, parsley potatoes, carrot raisin salad, strawberry cake/frosting, whole wheat roll

Thursday, February 20 Crunchy fish, tartar sauce, cheesy potatoes, broccoli/cauliflower, sliced peaches, whole wheat roll

Monday, February 24 Arros con pollo (chicken and rice), side salad, Harvard beets, whole wheat bread, cinnamon apples

Tuesday, February 25 Posole/pork/chili, sliced zucchini/diced tomatoes, sweet rice with raisins, whole wheat tortilla

Wednesday, February 26 French dip sandwich with Au Jus, sun chips, mixed vegetables, mandarin oranges

Thursday, February 27 Spaghetti and meat sauce, herbed green beans, side salad/dressing, garlic sticks, peanut butter cookie
