The Alamosa High and Ortega Middle School Gymnasts, coaches and parents would like to take a moment to thank the many people who have, to date, donated time and or money to help us raise the $25,000 needed to convert the old Ag Shop into a permanent gymnastics facility. Once we are able to complete all paperwork needed for the state and raise the necessary funding for improvements (which may be a tad more than we originally anticipated) we will begin getting ready to move in. Making this move will enable us to have year round access to the equipment for high school and middle school gymnasts. It will also enable us to offer year round kiddie lessons for any SLV boy or girl in preschool-5th grade.
Relocation of the gymnastics team will also free up the auxiliary gym at Alamosa High School so that it may be used by PE classes all year, as well as be available for open gyms for any other sport. The support we receive for our project benefits not just one sport, but all AHS sports and gymnasts in the entire SLV.
We have a long road ahead of us. We are up to the challenge and with continued support from people like those mentioned below we will succeed.
From the bottom of our hearts thank you (in no particular order):
Ski-Balls Running World, Jay Meyer, Karen Lemke , Don Chapman, Larry Schriener, Jon Weir, ASD BOE, Flats and Mary Lujan, Keith Vance, Blessed Brews, San Luis Valley Federal Savings and Loan, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kennison, Patti Christiansen, Alamosa High School Girls Basketball Team, K-Lawn, Gary and Toni Ramstetter, Jim and Linette Jenkins, Alamosa State Bank, Duane and Lorey Bussey, Michelle and Dave Sisneros, Treasure Alley, First Southwest Bank, Beta Sigma Phi, Roy and Linda Helms, Don Spencer and Scott Johnson of Summit Engineering.
