Saguache resident Walter Kayo Morgan, 85, passed away January 2, 2014 at Homelake Veteranís Center in Homelake, Colorado. Kayo was born on December 2, 1928 in Denver, Colorado. Kayo was a veteran of the United States Army. Kayo was a professional bull and bronc rider and earned many awards.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Louise Sorrell, who preceded him in death. He was a Farrier by occupation and enjoyed training horses, drinking coffee at the coffee shop and talking rodeo with his friends. Kayo was a wonderful husband, father, stepfather, brother, and friend.
Survivors include his stepdaughter, Vickie Marie, of Pine, Colorado; daughter Vykki (Buddy) Martin of Montana; stepson Jim (Cathy) Ellis of Kona, Hawaii; and his sister, Harriet.
Kayo was preceded in death by his parents Terrance and Sarah Morgan.
Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Saguache Community Building in Saguache, Colorado, with full Military Honors to follow.
