Mosca resident Richard James Wobith, Sr., 68, passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2013.
Richard was born in North Judson, Indiana the son of Edward Wobith and Marceil Short Wobith on August 12, 1945. He attended college in Leadville and worked for many years as a Truck Driver and Heavy Equipment Operator. He married his wife of 42 years, Jessie Lollie McColm on June 20, 1971 in Alamosa.
He loved to spend time with his family and to be outside working in the yard, camping, fishing and hunting. He was very proud of his son Richard for serving 20 years of active duty with the United States Navy and his upcoming retirement. Most of all, Richard’s grandbabies were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his loving wife Jessie Wobith of Mosca; his children Bobby (James) Aldridge, Richard (Danielle) Wobith, Jr., Justin (Cassandra) Wobith; his grandbabies Travis, Brandon (Shay), Chris Aldridge, Fox, Lillian, Jessie Wobith Kristopher, Keith, Lindsey Wobith; his sisters Sue McEwen and La Gean ”Geanie” Schick; his step-brothers Ed and Bob Tauteris; his special friend Stanley Bundy as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents Ed and Marceil and by his mother-in-law Jessie Lora Shockey and father-in-law Owen Leon McColm, Sr.
A Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 pm Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. Interment will follow services in the Alamosa Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to either the Cancer Centers of America or to Children’s Hospital in his memory and may be made through the funeral home office.
