Antonito resident John Moyle Anderson Sr., 72, passed away December 30, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving wife. John was born on February 18, 1941 in Logan, Utah. John was a retired veteran in the United States Air Force with over 20 years of service. He was a graduate of the University of Wyoming. He was united in marriage to Janice Marie Jack on December 22, 1969 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. John retired in May of 2011, with 24 years as an engineer for Boeing. He was also a member of the Conejos County Board of Land Use. John was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, traveling and the time he spent with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Jan Anderson of Antonito, CO; sons John Moyle (Renate) Anderson Jr. of Daphne, Alabama; Ryan Douglas (Crystal) Anderson of Golden, CO; one grandson Ian Michael Anderson of Golden, CO; sister Karen Anderson of Napa, CA; brothers Scott (Kathi) Anderson of Gilbert, AZ; Jeffery (Kim) Anderson of Mesa, AZ; Gregory Anderson of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his parents Moyle and Ethel Anderson and one brother Barry Anderson.
Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fox Creek, Colorado, with full Military Honors to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice in his name. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Romero Funeral Home of Antonito.
