Alamosa resident Ruth Emilee Terry, 86, died December 20, 2013 at the Evergreen Nursing Home in Alamosa.
Ruth was born to Henry C. Brandt and Elsie Forbes Brandt in Carroll, Iowa on November 1, 1927. She married Alvin Edward Terry on January 15, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri and they enjoyed 29 years until his death in 1975.
Ruth began her career as a Nurse and retired as a Waitress. She lived in Denver for many of her working years. She moved to Decatur, Illinois for a time and has lived in Alamosa, to be closer to her children, for the past 20 years.
Ruth was an avid reader and in her later years enjoyed playing games to pass the time, especially Yahtzee, Scrabble and Rummy.
She is survived by her children Richard (Tammy) Terry of Covington, Ohio, Sherry Evans of Lakewood, Kathy (Chris) Martinez of Alamosa, John (Marian) Terry of Craig, CO, Ed (Kristy) Terry of Lakewood, and David Terry of Denver; her sisters Aggie Shipman of Indianapolis, IN and Bobbie Manley of Omaha, NE; as well as seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents, her husband, her son Daniel Terry and her sister Norma Moats preceded her in death.
Cremation was chosen and Memorial Services will be held at later date. Contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of the donors choice.
