GARCIA — Garcia domestic water system tested positive on November 21 for bacterial contamination. Until further notice, everyone using Garcia’s water supply is under a boil water advisory.
Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least three minutes and stored in clean covered containers. Bottled or boiled water should also be used for drinking, cooking, hand washing, and tooth brushing. At this time no one has been reported ill as a result of using the water.
The community has set up a dispensing location at the Garcia Fire Department where residents can come to refill clean water containers with water that is being brought in from an uncontaminated source. Water may be picked up daily from 12-2 p.m., or from 5-7 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help staff the water dispensing site. Please call Matthew at (575) 770-6945.
